Position Title: Warehouse Shipping Clerk 

 Department: Warehouse

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor 

Position Summary

The Warehouse Shipping Clerk assists in shipping and receiving in the warehouse department by preparing all outgoing shipments per work orders, ensuring that the shipment has the correct product that matches the work order, customer, and address. The position requires attention to detail and extreme organizational practices due to the intricate processes that must be followed. This position also requires overtime. The pay scale for the Warehouse Shipping clerk starts at $18/hr and increases with experience, performance, and certifications.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities 

This position includes (but is not limited to) the following essential functions:

  • Confirm all shipments are packaged to arrive safely, contain the right product for the right customer, and have the right label with the right address
  • Understand RMB and customer’s industry standards for shipping
  • Inform management and supervisors of product shortage or damage
  • Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges
  • Operate shrink wrap
  • Restock boxes and bubble wrap
  • Answer the door and operate the dock
  • Make pallets and move pallets
  • Use the computer to create pack lists and enter inventory
  • Arrange pickup and drop-off; monitor the exchange
  • Track, trace, and update the status of outgoing shipments
  • Accurately enter the shipment details into the computer system and customer portals
  • Responsible for proper paperwork and documentation for all shipments and receiving
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints
  • Process shipping and delivery reports
  • Engage with drivers and customers with a positive attitude
  • Handle Kanban services, including processing a pick list, managing proper storage of goods, and processing incoming goods.
  • Understand transaction processes, MRP, material planning, and customer portals

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Have successful experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification is strongly preferred
  • Operate shipping computer and other general warehouse/office equipment
  • Six months of warehouse, logistics, and customer service experience preferred
  • Collaborate with RMBs departments for shipping deadlines and priorities
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and other computer programs
  • Maintain inventory of shipping essentials
  • Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems
  • Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, including when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but are within the scope of this position
  • Requires communication skills both written and oral in the English language
  • Requires excellent safety practices, which includes keeping a clean work area
  • Possess interpersonal skills, which are vital to maintaining an organized warehouse
  • Effectively process changes through RMB feedback and reviews
  • Requires personal responsibility and accountability to meet workmanship standards with little supervision to complete assignments
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and RMB

Physical Requirements and Hazards 

The employee will be required to:

  • Stand while working with machinery
  • Sit while doing computer work
  • Make repetitive movements, such as sorting and packing
  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift
  • Lift no more than 50 pounds alone and assist in team lifts of more than 50 pounds
